Welcome to the College of Engineering!

We're thrilled to have you join us in Michigan Engineering.  This is such an exciting time, and we look forward to being a part of your Michigan experience. We're here to help you make the most of it!  This monthly newsletter will help you stay connected and up to date on all relevant information, programs, and resources that will support your success through your first year.

Introducing your EAC advising team! You'll meet your academic advisor during orientation. You'll stay connected with that advisor throughout your first year, and work together until you declare your engineering major. The EAC is your headquarters for success at Michigan. Get to know us HERE. We're excited to meet you!
Wondering how to figure it all out on campus? Our Peer Mentoring Program is the place to start. Learn more about this high impact program HERE. You'll receive your invitation by email in June. Get a jump start on your first year and sign up then!
Did you take AP or IB exams?  Be sure to send the results to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Did you take classes at another college?  Send your official transcript to the College. The sooner this credit is evaluated and added to your transcript, the better we can plan courses together at Orientation.
Here's our next piece of course planning advice - take Engineering 110.  You'll learn how engineers benefit society. You'll explore our 17 different majors, and see how each of them make an impact on our world. Hear about the broader campus experiences that can shape your future engineering career.   Engr 110 will also fulfill a General Elective requirement for your engineering degree.
Stay connected with us all year! Follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook (ok, tell your parents to follow us on Facebook). Stay up to date and get the latest and greatest news and views. Don't miss a thing!
Michigan Athletics - kind of a big deal. Whether you're a diehard fan or new to the Maize and Blue, you've got to experience a game this year. If football is your thing, be sure to order your tickets by June 15! Basketball and Hockey, too!
Get ready for the time of your life! Check the list from the EAC for your countdown to your Michigan career. Be sure to complete your Academic Planning and Interest Survey before orientation. This will make your first advising meeting even more helpful and effective.
Get ready for Orientation! It's a whirlwind of activity and information. Arrive well rested, bring a water bottle, umbrella, and comfortable shoes. Prepare in advance so you'll be ready for it all. Check out these recommendations and expectations from the Office of New Student Programs. You'll be glad you did!
Here's our first piece of course planning advice - take ALA 171. Connect with students in your residence hall and learn how to get off to a strong start at Michigan! It's just seven weeks long, and will fulfill a General Elective requirement for your engineering degree.
Your first homework assignment will arrive in July! The Common Reading Experience will be your first way to bond with your class. Tag a photo from your favorite reading spot: #UmichEnginRead.
Your high school graduation is right around the corner. We know this is an exciting time for you! Remember to have your final transcript sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. This will complete your admission to Michigan.
Take time to explore campus and the great city of Ann Arbor - voted #1 city to live! You'll find plenty of spots to hang out, be entertained, grab a bite any time of day and night - all with the best people-watching! Get to know our unique A2
Start your Michigan experience in a BIG way - at the Big House!  Join with 110,000+ loyal Maize and Blue fans as we kick off our home football season on September 8 against Western Michigan. Learn "The Victors" and get ready to Go Blue!
