House District 1
February 26th Newsletter

March is right around the corner, and I have been so busy at the Capitol. If you missed it, I took part in a Mega Town Hall at Valdez Elementary School a few weeks ago with Senator Julie Gonzales  Representatives Serena Gonzales Gutierrez and Alex Valdez. We were joined by Denver City Council members Candi CdeBaca, Robin Kniech, Jamie Torres, Deborah Ortega, and Amanda Sandoval. Along with RTD board member Shontel Lewis, and RTD board chair Angie Rivera-Malpiede.
Nearly a hundred constituents attended the Mega town hall. The format allowed community members to talk directly with legislators, councilwomen, and RTD members about issues that were important to them while we listened and took notes.

This week the Capitol was visited by the Colorado Association of Gifted and Talented (CAGT) students from across the state. Every year I partner with CAGT to have a student shadow me for the day and learn first-hand how our legislature works. To find out more about CAGT and how you can get a student you know involved, click here.
A lot is coming up in the next few weeks here at the legislature and in the state, including my town hall at Harvey Park Rec Center with Sen. Robert Rodriguez on March 21st. Scroll down for information on voting in the primary and caucus, free tax help, free legal help, and important dates.

As always, I love to hear from you! If you're unable to attend any of the meetings this month, there will always be more in the future. Please feel free to reply to this email or to call me at 303-866-2966. If you have any questions, concerns, or even a simple idea on how I can better serve our district, please reach out to me.
