House District 1 January 15th Newsletter
Last Wednesday marked the first day of the 2020 Colorado State Legislative session, and this will be my sixth session serving as your State Representative. I am excited to continue as Chair of the Health and Insurance Committee as well as continue my work as a member of the State Veterans and Military Affairs committee.
It should be an exciting session at the Capitol, this year's priorities are; health care affordability, affordable housing, teen nicotine use, and continuing to work on addressing paid family leave, If you are interested, here is a link to that bill. Other big topics at the Capitol will include conversations about long term funding solutions for K-12 education and transportation. I am looking forward to working on policy here at the Capitol that will improve and maintain the Colorado way of life.
This Saturday I will be walking in the Womxn's March. The Womxn's March Collective's mission is to amplify marginalized voices and end sexism, oppression, and injustice. I am honored to be able to participate this year and If you would like to join me, here is a link with further details.
It has been an honor serving Southwest Denver and Jefferson County, and I am looking forward to the exciting work ahead of us this year.
If you want to hear more about my priorities, feel free to reach out to my office and me.
