It’s all about fishing!

Special Story Hour - Saturday, May 11th

11:00 a.m

Come and listen to stories, learn some interesting facts, sing songs, play musical instruments, make a craft and enjoy a snack. We will also talk about the fishing poles that can be borrowed from our library.
Fishing poles are ready for check out at the Town of Ulster Public Library!

Take them out for two weeks and get a free coloring book and tackle box. It’s a reel big deal!

Family Movie Night

Our subscription to RBDigital just got expanded again! In addition to offering free magazines, comics, audiobooks, and eBooks, the online service also gives you access to AcornTV, a premier source of British television for American audiences. You can stream hundreds of fantastic British TV shows on any device with an internet connection. Plus, if you’ve already taken advantage of RBDigital’s other offerings, you don’t even need to create a new account! it’s all covered under the same login.

So, if you’re in the mood for a nail-biting mysterya classic work of Russian literature brought to life, or a deep dive into the search for Scotland’s most famous cryptid, RBDigital and AcornTV have you covered.

Keeping in the theme of expansions, our subscription to RBDigital has grown! In addition to magazines (Zinio), you can now use your RBDigital login to access Marvel comics, concerts and documentaries about musicians (Quello), and audiobooks of classic literature!

Access on your computer or by app. Since these features are available courtesy of the Ulster County Library Association, make sure when you log in to the app you choose Ulster County Libraries.

So, whether you’re interested in the latest Birds and Blooms Magazine, reading up on some Spider-Man, watching one of Queen’s original performances, or listening to Jane Eyre on audio, RBDigital has you covered.

Weekly Story Hours


Preschool Musical Story Hour– 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

This program is for children ages 3-5 years and their caregivers. During this story hour, there will be stories as well as non-fiction books. Music is an integral part of this program.  A hands-on craft and snack follow each story hour.



Baby & Me Musical Story Hour– 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

This lap-time story hour is for children ages 0-3 years and their caregivers. This program will introduce a love for books using songs, movement, rhythm, and rhyme. A hands-on craft and snack follow each program.

Now you can! Introducing Kanopy, a streaming service that partners with libraries to provide films that “inspire us, enrich us, and challenge our perspectives”.

Choose from over 30,000 films. Watch award-winners, international, series, classics, documentaries, and/or instructional films, right from your phone, tablet, and/or computer.

Have kids? They have a great selection of movies, series, animated classic books specially selected for children.

Here’s how it works: You get five movie passes a month, which you can use to stream any of the movies in Kanopy’s catalog. Once you make your selection, you can stream that movie as many times as you’d like for three days. If that’s not enough time, you can use another pass for another three days. Your passes refill on the first of the month.
