Check out this week's harvest, great recipe ideas, and a few updates from 4P Foods.

4P Foods Weekly Harvest

What to expect in your bag...

Hello to our 4P Foods Community! We hope you have big plans to bring some of your 4P Foods goodies to your Thanksgiving table, wherever that may be. Remember to tag us in any pictures if you've got anything particularly tasty to share.  Justin worked closely with our farmers this year to put together a wonderful Thanksgiving offering - - we hope you enjoy!

If you've read any of our recent newsletters, you know that this coming week we are going to be on an adjusted schedule to accomodate for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  That means two things: First, your delivery day will be different than usual (see below).  Second, we kindly ask that you make any adjustments to your bag ASAP so our farmers can harvest and get your food to us for packing and delivering in time for the holiday.  Here's what that looks like:
  • If you usually get a bag on WEDNESDAYS or THURSDAYS, your deliveries will be made on MONDAY, the 21st.  We ask that if you want to skip or make any customized changes, please do so by FRIDAY (tomorrow) at midnight.
  • If you usually get a bag on FRIDAYS, your deliveries will be made on TUESDAY, the 22nd.  If you want to skip or make any customized changes, please do so by SATURDAY at midnight.
Please note: We are going to be working all weekend, with extra long days on Monday and Tuesday to make this all possible.  Your delivery might arrive earlier or later than it usually does... please bear with us as we cram a week's worth of work into 2-3 days.  We want everyone to have this wonderful bounty of food for Thanksgiving, and this adjusted schedule seems to be the best way to do it.  Thanks in advance for your patience, flexibility, and understanding.  Wish us luck! And may the traffic Gods be with us...

Speaking of Thanks:
THANK YOU!  On behalf of all of us here at 4P Foods, on behalf of our farmers, on behalf of our producer friends, on behalf of the underserved communities we work with, and on behalf of future generations who will have a more sustainable and equitable food system because of you... we thank you.  Our work here at 4P Foods is challenging, but rewarding because of members like you.  We couldn't do it without you, so know that this year, around our Thanksgiving tables, we will be raising a glass to you, our 4P Foods Members.
Thank You for your love and support.

For instructions on proper storage of your weekly items please see our Storage Tips Blog Post. This post will be regularly updated with new items that come in your bag. You can search items by alphabetic order.

Don't forget to keep the plastic "Green Bags" that come in your share each week. They are specially made to keep your produce fresh for as long as possible. They can be rinsed and reused so be sure that you don't accidentally throw them in the trash. If your kitchen drawers get too crowded, just throw them back in your 4P Foods tote bag and we will take care of recycling them for you.

A Note from 4P Foods:

Don't forget!!  Cutoff times to skip a bag: Sunday at midnight for Wednesday deliveries, Monday at midnight for Thursday deliveries, and Tuesday at midnight for Friday deliveries.  If you have scheduled upcoming skips and change your membership at all, you will need to reschedule those since it is a new subscription that gets created.  Email or call if you need help.

If you have a produce share AND a protein/dairy share and need to skip a given week, be sure to skip ALL of them when logged into your account page.  Otherwise, the system is designed so you can skip one or the other in a given week.
If you ever get a bruised apple or "sad" greens or anything along those lines - TELL US! It happens in the world of produce, and we need that kind of feedback to tell our farmers if something is wrong, and get you a discount/credit if needed.  That's what we're here for!
Wanting to learn a little more about the best ways to prepare your Grassfed meat each week? Jesse from Wiffletree Farm suggests these two cookbooks for those learning their way around: The Grassfed Gourmet and Long Way on a Little: An Earth Lover's Companion for Enjoying Meat, Pinching Pennies and Living Deliciously.
