Homelessness Prevention Week (HPW) will be taking place across Australia starting on the 3rd August 2015. Shelter Tasmania, the peak body for housing and homelessness in the State, is pleased to promote the events and activities around Tasmania as part of HPW 2015.

On any given night in Tasmania over 1,500 people are experiencing homelessness.

Step Up with us to end Homelessness Housing Connect collaborating partners, along with Second Bite and Loui’s Van will be walking to raise awareness for homelessness. Walkers will meet at Colony 47 and walk to Mathers Lane where they will be greeted with tea and coffee provided by Loui's Van. HELP Film Festival
Finalists in the H.E.L.P. “Homelessness; Every Life is Precious” film festival will have their short films shown at the CMax Cinema. The night will be hosted by Ben Milbourne (former Masterchef contestant) with the theme "Who is Homeless". Prizes will be awarded on the night.
