COLOR IMPRESSIONS Bonnie Randall Boller and Renee Doty Artists’ Reception on September 15th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Eyewise Optometry, 2561 Blanding Ave., Suite B, near Nob Hill Grocery
Bonnie Randall Boller, a native Alameda artist, has transformed her artwork over her 30 plus year career, by moving from ceramics, to a more pictorial style of artwork found in clay monotype, encaustic painting and altered photography. Her unique way of seeing the world intimately, as if through a magnifying glass, has produced compositions incorporating an intensity of color, along with simplicity of form. This approach can be seen in both Bonnie's large clay monotypes and in her more intimate encaustic paintings which incorporate her altered photography. In both styles of artwork the uniqueness and complexity of working these mediums adds not only to the allure of this work, but gives each piece a greater sense of depth.
Fine Artist Renee Doty uses a variety of mediums to create landscapes both real and imagined. Using photos and plein air sketches for inspiration, her paintings become visceral reminders of the relationship and interaction of earth and sky she observes as she bikes and hikes the trails of the Bay Area and the Front Range of the Colorado mountains. Her lovely, abstract landscapes reveal images of light and energy she experiences as she moves through her life.
The public is always welcome to come enjoy the artwork being displayed at Eyewise during regular business hours. We encourage everyone to come see this beautiful show.
