LANDSCAPES: East & West Watercolors by Kris Warrenburg
June 9 - July 9
Opening Reception: June 9
Kris Warrenburg moved to Alameda after living in East Hampton, New York for 15 years. This exhibit contrasts the landscapes of these diverse areas, from the unspoiled beaches of the east to the rugged mountains of the west.

EYEWISE OPTOMETRY JUNE 1 - SEPTEMBER 30
Dr. Alex Lukens is currently showing the work of two Alameda watercolor artists at The Frank Bette Center for the Arts’ Satellite Gallery located at Eyewise Optometry.
After a distinguished career as a Marine, George Powell began to seriously follow his artistic passion at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. Taking a mental image, sketching it out and then dealing with the idiosyncrasies of the paint itself becomes his challenge. Today, this Veteran paints his beautiful watercolors as a form of therapy for PTSD, and with the objective of bringing happiness to the lucky viewer of his paintings.
Beth Bourland is very active in the local Alameda art scene. She continues to perfect her artistic talents through classes and workshops and is a member of several artistic associations. She frequently shows her work at venues around the East Bay as well as the Frank Bette Center and has participated in several of our Center’s juried Plein Air events. Beth feels awe in the beauty of the ordinary, using her subject matter as a jumping off place to leap to a creative interpretation, and in the process, inviting the viewer to share in her experience.
And we invite you all to join us for the Artists’ Reception for these two remarkable artists on June 23, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Eyewise Optometry, 2561 Blanding Ave., Suite B, near Nob Hill Grocery.
Shown are The Fighting Roosters of the Philippines" by George Powell and "Pink Shopping Bags" by Beth Borland. "
