At the Frank Bette Center for the Arts we are committed to supporting the local art community. If you are able, please consider a donation of any amount to help the Center continue to provide opportunities for working artists in Alameda and the surrounding area. Help us to keep the arts alive!
Do you miss the Sun? I know it’s raining today but what I really mean is do you miss the Alameda Sun? We read each week that the Sun shines everywhere, well that's not the case anymore.
Due to the COVID-19 Shelter in Place issued for California the Sun has been suffering. Although they they have received an SBA loan, they cannot continue to publish for more than a few more months without more financial help from readers.
The circulation has been reduced from 24,000 copies per week to 3,000 copies with 700 going to those who have subscribed with a payment of at least $25 per year and 2300 free copies distributed to local stores. You can subscribe via the internet at https://alamedasun.com/subscribe or by mailing a check to Alameda Sun 3215 j Encinal Avenue Alameda, CA 94501. If you have subscribed in the past year, but prior to it being a requirement to obtain delivery, call the Sun at 510-263-1470. We are assured by the editor that he will add you to the delivery list. If we want to keep the Sun we need to significantly increase subscriptions. If you have not subscribed, please consider doing so in whatever amount you can afford. If you have subscribed, please consider sending an additional amount.
