Get involved in Frank Bette's 2014 Plein Air Paintout

This is the Center's biggest fundraising and awareness building event of the year. Your help makes us successful and keeps us vibrant. No wonder the Bette is known as the Best Gallery in Alameda (see below for this year's Best in Alameda Readers' Choice Award).

Here's a summary of this year's dates, times, and locations.

For 5 days, from July 28th to August 2nd, 40 artists paint outside around and about Alameda
Art Exhibit and Sale of all the paintings done during the week
Date: Saturday, August 2
Time: 10:00am to 6:00pm
Location: Neptune Court at South Shore Shopping Center (Park Street and Otis Drive).

Quick Draw Competition
: Wednesday, July 30
Time: 9:00am-11:30am
Location: Encinal to Central Avenues between Willow and Webster Streets (includes Crab Cove and Franklin Park)

Exhibit and sale of  Quick Draw paintings
: 2:00pm to 7:00pm
Location: backyard of Frank Bette Center, 1601 Paru at Lincoln
We need volunteers at these events. Help with set up, with refreshing artists as they take a break, and at the sales desk. Contact the Center for time slots.

Opening Reception: Friday, August 15
Time: 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Location: Frank Bette Center for the Arts

Frank Bette Center for the Arts needs your help to make this year's Plein Air Paintout a success:
  • Tell all your friends and neighbors to stop by the Center during the week of outdoor painting
  • Come to South Shore Shopping Center exhibit on Saturday Aug 2.
  • Buy a Plein Air painting and support the artist and the Frank Bette Center.
  • Volunteer to help set up the 2 months long gallery show.

Abstract painter Adriana Diaz uses unusual texture to add depth and dimension to her artwork.
This is Adriana's first show in Alameda and Frank Bette Center for the Arts is proud to introduce this exciting artist to our fair city.

Opening Reception
July 18th
Time:  6:00pm - 8:00pm
Location: Eyewise Optometry
2651 Blanding Avenue (in Alameda's Nob Hill Shopping Center).

Membership runs one year so it may be time to re-up. The Frank Bette Center for the Arts depends on membership for financial and volunteer support. The benefits of membership are significant to all in our community as well as to exhibiting artists and art students.
