Plein Air Paintout
The annual Frank Bette Plein Air Paintout is coming Aug 1-6th.  Forty artists from around the country, the state and our local community will converge on Alameda to paint the scenes, the homes, the gardens and the waterways.  If you wish to have your home rendered in a painting by an artist,  contact Margaret Fago at   We will also need volunteers throughout the week to help.  Keep an eye on our website volunteer spot and at the center when it reopens for Jobs needed, dates and times, or contact Margaret Fago to be on the volunteer call out list.
Building Update
Building update:   The Electrical work is done (Thank You Dave Massay and crew and Victor Jin for his donation to pay for this part), dry rot damaged back outside stairs are rebuilt and ready (Thank You Omega Termite and Pest control, for doing a fantastic job and giving us a discount.  Thanks also to the many people who stepped forward with donations to pay $15,000 for this job ) .  We still have a few small issues inside the building with a hot water heater, furnace and tub/shower which we will solve in the next two weeks.   We won’t be able to give a reopen date until these are done but it is getting close.
Once we reopen we will have phase two work for which we will need to raise additional funds.  These include upgraded electrical with better lighting upstairs to improve our class rooms and work spaces upstairs, new inside paint, fresh signage, the backyard garden and fence.
Please consider a donation or join ( or renew today) as a member to help FBCA stay a vibrant art center.
