2016 Holiday Help
Every Holiday Season we face the reality that not every family we encounter will have the resources to provide gifts, clothing, or even food.

At Communities In Schools of Puyallup part of our mission is to surround our students and during the Holidays we especially put this mission to work to ensure that as many families as possible can enjoy what makes this time of year so special. This year we were very humbled to see the outpouring of support from the community.

In November, over 13 organizations and individuals provided $8,918 worth of donations consisting of food, baking/cooking accessories, and gift cards to 147 families so they could have wonderful Thanksgiving meals.

In December, over 22 organizations and individuals provided $14,869 worth of donations consisting of food, clothing, gifts, and gift cards to 120 families so they could have amazing Holidays.

We cannot thank all of our partners enough in making these Holidays such a special and positive event in our student's lives. This way when they return to school they are ready to learn and achieve in life.
Community Spotlight
Tattered Apron Bakery
Jessica Dugan and the wonderful staff at Tattered Apron Bakery have been donating baked goods to students that participate in our Weekend Backpack Program at Firgrove Elementary. They truly encompass what it means to serve our community. This Holiday Season they went above and beyond and delivered dozens of ginormous frosted
sugar cookies.

New Staff Announcement
Meet Kayla Prewitt!

She comes to us from Spokane, WA where she worked at Northeast Youth Center and graduated with a Bachelor's in Sociology with an emphasis in Social Service and Community Action at Whitworth University. Winter Highlights
Central Pierce Fire Rescue
They risk their lives every day and it doesn't stop there. This winter the firefighters of Central Pierce Fire Rescue donated 40 coats to children in need to stay warm during the freezing temperatures. Thank you for always thinking about the safety of this community.

Life Care Center of America
The March Gladness Leadership Team had a fun time spreading Holiday cheer and decorating four 10 foot trees for the residents at Life Care Center of America in Puyallup.
