School and Fall

Summer activities are in full swing, but before you know it, school will start and fall will be here. This is also the time when you can introduce new policies, curricula, and more as the school year begins.

There is no "one answer" when it comes to curricula and resources. I trust and know many of you doing ministry are able to "work" the resources that come your way. There are, however, some really great resources to help ease your load as you help us communicate the importance of lifelong, holistic faith formation. Click here to see our suggestions quality curricula for this next school year.

Safety is Sacred
As you begin the new year, make sure you have policies and forms to help keep your kids and adults as safe as possible. Here are a few tips to help you get started. If you need more assistance, please contact us.

1. Insurance Board: Safe Conduct Workbench
(Membership not required.)
Resources include: Policy Templates, Background Check Information, Free Trainings, and Assessment Tools
2. Red Cross Mobile Apps
Apps available: First Aid, Tornado, Hurricane, Shelter Finder, Swim, and more -- offering education, news alerts, and step-by-step advice.  Available in Spanish.

Family Matters...
by Rev. Dr. Olivia Bryan Updegrove

Have you ever gone to a dog training class? I once had a very active dog, Stamp, and quickly found myself in need of assistance. As Stamp and I entered doggie school together I realized, as many other dog owners discover, it was not the dog who would receive the training—it was me. Read more...
