The restaurant weeks are ramping up again since the new year has started, and Newport Beach has decided to run their specials for two whole weeks! There are some great deals to be found out there - one of which is the menu for Great Maple which we previewed by invite. Consider that their $30/person dinner menu for Newport Beach Restaurant Week allows you to pick their typically $25 Scottish Salmon (pictured above) as an entree in addition to two other courses!

Rainbow fun: Rarely do people realize that vegetables come in more colors and shapes than the ones brandished in grocery stores. Heirloom carrots can appear in a variety of hues including deep purple or bright white. For an impressive side dish, roast them all together with a bit of balsamic and herbs like in my recipe here!

- Tam O’Shanter in downtown LA hosts their annual celebration of poet Robert Burns's birthday tonight and tomorrow (5:30PM & 8:15PM) with over 40 single malt scotches, Haggis, and bagpipers.

- The Habit is bringing back its Sesame Chicken and Almond Salad ($7.25) January 21 - March 17!

- Elbows Mac n' Cheese (Brea & Cerritos) has Superbowl covered! Order catering trays to be taken home and baked minutes before the game. Options include populars like Wingin' It and Do You Want to Pizza Me.

- Indulge in the Vegetable Discovery Tasting Menu at Stonehill Tavern January 22 - March 31 with live music, interactive stations, specialty cocktails, and biodynamic wines. Six-course menu is $125 pp.

- OC Fair is starting their 125th anniversary party early with sweet Pop-Up Parties. Join them January 25 from 11AM-1PM at Blackmarket Bakery. The first 125 guests receive a free treat.

- Dory Deli opens January 26 by the Newport Beach Pier featuring sandwiches, salads, craft beers and fresh-brewed Kéan Coffee espresso drinks. Executive Chef Chris Rubinstein also shows off a hearty selection of vegan options like the oyster mushroom po’boy.

- On January 26, purchase a Sofritas entrée from Chipotle and redeem the receipt for a free entrée of choice between January 27 and February 28.

- Ruby’s celebrates its 32nd anniversary, offering the classic RubyBurger at its original price of $2.35 January 28th.

- The Colony Wine Merchant celebrated their grand opening January 8th as the first wine bar/independent retailer within Downtown Anaheim's historical community, "The Colony". They offer boutique wines, craft beers and cheeses.
