Dear Friends of the Wilkins Foundation,
Many thanks to those of you who attended the Wilkins Oration for 2019 on the evening of the 31st of October. We have received much positive feedback, along with helpful suggestions about how the Foundation could improve its pre-event communications, advice on parking, and aspects of the venue that you may be sure we will take into account in planning next year’s Oration.
I am pleased to confirm that our close links with the State Library of South Australian will be further strengthened by the appointment to the board of the Wilkins Foundation of the Library’s Director, Geoff Strempel.
Speaking of the Library, I would like to draw to your attention an initiative of the Friends of that fine institution, namely The Inaugural Deane Miller Oration, which will take place on Tuesday 19 November at the magnificent Mortlock Library. The subject, ‘William Herbert Ifould – the Great Collector’ will be presented by the well-known identity and engaging speaker, Paul Brunton OAM. The invitation is included below, or read the event details here. I hope many of you will be able to attend - you can reserve your seat here. I am assured that the Oration will start and finish on time!
Yours,
Stephen Scammell
Chairman
