Dear Children’s Center Families,
The Needham Department of Public Health, has advised us to close the TBS Children’s Center for two weeks. As a result, the school will be closed beginning tomorrow, Friday, March 13 through Friday, March 27, reopening, Monday, March 30.
During this time, we will continue to monitor the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation. As you know, we are in close contact with local and state officials, and as always, our community's safety and wellbeing is our number one priority.
A two-week closure creates challenges for us all and significantly disrupts the lives of you and your families. In an effort to maintain a sense of continuity and relationships during this challenging time, we are proud to share news of the launch of an online learning platform for students and families. When we heard about other closings across the country and how they planned to engage students remotely, we immediately began developing an online classroom specifically to support our early childhood learners. We are very excited to share the results with you today.
Our teachers have been working tirelessly to create engaging materials that they will be sharing in short online sessions - music, storytime, Shabbat singing, and other activities for you and your child to do together while school is closed. Although this is not the same as being together, this tool will allow for them to remain connected to their teachers, and to retain pieces of their routine. You will soon receive an invitation to log into your child’s online classroom in a separate email.
This is a developing situation, and the health and safety information comes to us minute-by-minute. As we learn more, we will share it with you.
A final note, for those of you who have conferences scheduled for tomorrow, they are cancelled and we will be in touch about timing for rescheduling.
If you have questions, please be in touch by email.
Wishing you healthy days ahead,
