What the World Needs Now

We are grateful for Cedric’s ministry at Saint Mark’s.
Dear Members and Friends of Saint Mark’s,
Like you, I get the news daily, and it deepens my belief that Saint Mark’s, by the grace of God and the generosity of its people, is offering the world what the world needs now more than ever.   “Love lives here” - and beyond - through our ministries to the poor, the hungry, the sick, the children, and many more. And, as always, your giving makes that possible.

We’ve already told you that our pledge goal for 2020 is $1,295,101. Pledges to date now total $996,101, and we continue to get more.
What I haven’t told you is that our vestry and clergy, after much prayer and discussion, want to make Cedric Gaither our full-time sexton.
In case you don’t know, a sexton is a janitor of the church, but Cedric is much more.  Cedric sets up for events and does whatever is needed to make our ministries happen. In case you haven’t met Cedric, he is a good man and a faithful sexton.  As a full-time sexton, he could devote even more to Saint Mark’s.  Currently, however, he works three part-time jobs without any health benefits for him or his family.  We want to change that.  We want to make him full-time with benefits, and several vestry members and clergy have already emailed the church office to increase their pledge next year.
With all this in mind, if you are a pledging member for 2020, we're deeply grateful; if you can increase your pledge or make an additional year-end gift, thank you.  And if you haven’t yet made a pledge for 2020, your pledge now will make a difference.
God bless you,
