Welcome, new folks!

Hi, there. I've had a number of people join the mailing list recently. I want to make sure everybody gets their free Frosthelm book, Traitors Unseen. If you haven't gotten it, you can get it free here (the site will ask you to sign up for this newsletter, which you're already getting) or here from Smashwords. It's also on Apple BooksKobo, and Barnes & Noble. Please, enjoy with my compliments.

The Woeling Lass is coming this week!

The Woeling Lass is through edits and proofing, and I have one more bit of feedback coming. Once that's here, which I expect within the next few days, I'll be ready to package it up in ebook and paperback formats and put it up on Amazon. It will be in Kindle Unlimited, so if you're a subscriber, you can read it (and all my books other than Traitors Unseen) for free. It always takes a few days for Amazon to approve the files I send, so I expect it will be out maybe this weekend or early next week.

The book tells the story of two members of the Inquisitors' Guild, one who familiar from the other books, one new. Gueran Declais appears in two other stories as a side character, heroic, but often a bit of an annoyance to the other inspectors. Here we get to know him far better as he navigates a murderous plot against his household and against other noble families of Frosthelm. We also meet Urret Milton, a plucky apprentice inspector having some difficulties in her training at the Guild's school. Pulled into a serious investigation, she finds new confidence and hones her skills, but she rapidly gets in far over her head. And around all of them, the legend of the Woeling Lass hovers as a mystery, an obstacle, and possibly a threat.

I really hope you enjoy this new tale of the Inquisitors' Guild. Look for it very soon!

A Blog Tour!

You may be seeing a lot more about Flames Over Frosthelm in the coming week, because I've signed up for my first blog tour. A bunch of book bloggers have agreed to read and review the book, and I've been sending copies all over the world, including paperbacks to the U.S., England, India, and the Philippines. It's very exciting. I'll post links to the reviews in my next newsletter. If you'd like to hear more and be notified, you can follow the action on Twitter through Escapist Blog Tours.

Some stories to try

I'm part of several author collectives, and we share each other's work to try to help all of us reach more readers. In many cases, the books we share are are free or discounted. Sometimes, they ask that you sign up for a newsletter like this one.

First, I have a big set of fantasy stories to share, all with heroic main characters you can cheer for. Check here for some fascinating and exciting work by indie authors.

Next, I have three books by indie authors to share. First is Berikatanyan Dawn by John Beresford, which I challenge you to say ten times fast. It follows a parallel story on Earth with three people about to be thrust together, and on a distant planet which is suffering through a magical cataclysm. This is a prequel novel to his Berikantyan Chronicles series, and it is free to try.

Second, I have The Retired S Ranked Adventurer series by Wolfe and Locke, a team of authors with a decidedly cool pair of names. This book is in the relatively recent LitRPG genre, where the book is written with the main character experiencing the action as if they were a player playing a computer role-playing game, complete with adding skills, advancing powers, collecting items, and taking damage. I haven't tried writing in this genre, but these books are intensely popular, often getting thousands of positive reviews from their ravenous followers. The link here goes to a compilation of many such novels by this team, and if you like it, they have many others to try as well.

Finally, I have a preview of a sci fi novel by Shane Shepherd, The Neighbor You Don't Know. This story tells the tale of the discovery and exploration of a planet discovered near Earth, one that was inhabited and which may hold secrets. This is a free preview of a new series. Shane writes short serialized episodes of longer storylines, and this series follows that model.

Thanks for reading!

It's very kind of you to keep up with my literary adventures. I really appreciate your being here. I hope you'll give The Woeling Lass a try - I'm so excited to share it with you.

May the Bloodmother watch over you -
