Israel Business Programs Drawing Ever Larger Attendance

Crowd Funding

On April 30, 2014, we welcomed Jonathan Medved, OurCrowd Founder & CEO, back to Chicago at 1871 for a program entitled "Start-up Nation Update: Lessons From 30 Years Of Investing In Israel."

Just over a year ago, Jon addressed a group of 35 people at 1871. This time, nearly 200 entrepreneurs, investors, service providers and others attended. Jon discussed recent OurCrowd success stories and his experiences over 30 years of investing in Israel. Following Jon's remarks, executives from OurCrowd portfolio companies Surgical TheaterApploiAbe's Market, MedAware and MUV Interactive gave brief presentations. Howard Tullman, 1871's CEO, moderated an informative Q&A session that we hoped could continue the rest of the day. The program was hosted by 1871.

Craft Beer Tasting
After work on April 24 we welcomed a sell-out crown of enthusiastic craft beer fans to introduce Malka Beer, the first Israeli Craft Beer to be sold in the US. Austin Clar of Sublime Imports discussed the Israeli craft beer industry and guided a tasting of Malka Beer's Belgian Blonde Ale, English Style Pale Ale and an Irish Style Dry Stout.

Malka Beer will be distributed locally by Chicago-owned and operated
Louis Glunz Beer. Look for it soon at Binny's and Whole Foods.
