Tabor Trot Early Birds

Thanks to all who already RSVPed at www.tabortrot.com for the Tabor Trot walk - and a special shout out to Dori Rosenberg, one of the earliest early birds!

Dori received a lung transplant in December and was soon looking for ways to pay it forward with her new Donate Life family. She found the registration form while it was still in testing mode and soon had a large group from Seattle and Portland signed up. She also set up her fundraiser page and shared beautifully to inspire generous support for the work of Donate Life Northwest.

Visit www.tabortrot.com to: learn more about this awesome gathering; see photos and video from past years; check out fundraisers like Dori's and set up your own; and REGISTER NOW to be there May 27th.

What Can YOU Make Possible?

We all have the potential to pass on life, comfort and hope by registering as an organ, eye or tissue donor.  Please join us this April as we host events statewide to encourage and celebrate Donate Life Month and National Blue and Green Day April 21.  Here is how you can help raise awareness:

Host a Blue and Green Party at your place of employment, house of worship, community setting, school or clinic.  We can send posters, brochures and goodies and maybe even a speaker.

Wear Blue and Green and snap photos of yourself, your family, co-workers and perhaps even unsuspecting bystanders (photo bomb!).  Send photos to info@donatelifenw.org ASAP.  We’d like these for our April highlights reel and social media posts.

Write a letter to a pediatrician in your community and explain how your life has been touched by donation and transplant.  Ask them to remind their 15-year-old patients why it is important to register as a donor.  If you get a personal response, please forward a copy to Elissa at adaire@ohsu.edu so we can share it.

The Donate Life Northwest mentorship program, in partnership with Legacy and OHSU transplant centers, connects wait-listed kidney patients with trained living kidney recipient and donor mentors. Medical providers, kidney patients, recipients, living donors, and family members are invited to this celebration to learn more about the program.  There will be a film unveiling, panel discussion, mingling, and delicious food!
