London Marathon

We’re excited to announce that we will be having an enthusiastic runner raising funds for us at this years’ London Marathon.

Andy Moore was the lucky MARINElife supporter to be drawn out of the hat, and he’ll be donning his running shoes in April for the 26.2-mile race.

Before then, he’ll need your help! Andy will be looking to raise £2,000 in support of our research work and every pound helps. So stay tuned to our social media platforms for where and how you can donate!

On Your Bike

We also have 12 places to fill at the Prudential RideLondon events to be held on Sunday 16th August 2020 and are looking for enthusiastic cyclists to step (or should that be cycle?) up and help raise us money through these events!

We have 8 places for the Surrey 100 bike ride & 4 places for the Surrey 46 bike ride (for those who would prefer to tackle a shorter distance). Full details of the events can be found here.

If you think you’re up for the challenge, then contact Alex Denny at

Become A Supporter

Fancy supporting us but aren’t up for expending a lot of energy cycling? Then how about becoming a regular MARINElife supporter for as little as £3 a month.

By signing up through CharityCheckout you can choose to make monthly, quarterly, or yearly donations to help support our research work. All you have to do is pick the time and amount, and they’ll do all the hard stuff. It’s certainly an easier resolution to keep to than visiting the gym three times a week!

November Sightings

November was a bit quiet survey-wise, but those volunteer researchers who got out onto the water still managed to see plenty, including hundreds of Gannet, Cormorant, gulls, and Shag. Even a few Grey Seal and Harbour Porpoise were spotted for good measure.

Stay up to date with all our surveys over on our website.

Lundy Adventure 2020

There are still places available on our 6-Day Marine Wildlife Experience on Lundy Island!

Join us for a specially prepared programme of training and island excursions with MARINElife's trainer Rick Morris, MARINElife ambassador Billy Heaney, and the Lundy Island warden.

There'll be a lots of activities including rock pooling, snorkel safari, seal survey, guided walks, and sea watch.

Find out more over on our website.
