So much to be grateful for

This year has been like none other. After travel restrictions due to Coronavirus, we have missed seeing our dear friends and supporters. Projects have been put on hold and Camp Joshua School was closed. Yet, all of our children have remained healthy. School began anew in August. Much-needed repairs are underway. Crops were planted at Mt. Horeb Farm and people are being healed at Golden Grace Clinic. As the Advent season begins, we are grateful for our many blessings. We are mostly thankful for you, our supporters. May God bless you all now and in the new year, a time of new beginnings for us all.

Give cozy socks to the kids...

If you celebrate Christmas, you put socks in holiday stockings, right? This year, give socks to the kids at LOHADA instead. Having no visitors — who keep our kiddos well dressed with material donations — means the kids' socks are looking a little shabby these days. On our website, you will find a handy stocking coupon that you can print, fill out and stash in a stocking or gift wrap. A $5 (U.S.) donation buys five pairs of socks. $20 goes "a step further" and buys school shoes for our secondary students.

CLASS OF 2020

Seventeen children graduated from Camp Joshua School in November. All passed their national exams, an extraordinary accomplishment given the country's average pass rate is just over 50%. With LOHADA support, all 17 will continue to secondary school. It's a proud moment as we have watched these kids grow and overcome incredible odds. Special thanks to Lisa Leaper, who provided funds for a party, including a cake! Lisa sponsors both Eliazari and Daniel, who are among the graduates.

Wow! Your support for the Fall Fund Drive made this happen

LOHADA has received $10,420 toward our goal of $14,500 for improvements and repairs at the school. Thanks to Bay Hope Church and Dan and Eileen Conway for their generous donations for repairing the security wall and making plumbing updates to the boys' bathroom. The interior wall, severely compromised in places, has been repaired. We continue to raise funds for the exterior. Plumbing updates are also underway. The Conways' funds will purchase a new septic tank for the bathroom. Also our sincere gratitude to Ann Korsak, Todd Arris, Shoukry Ashamalla, Wendy Kotila, Mable Hui, Stefano Minucci, Swen Kolterman, Cynthia Lawrence, Lisa Leaper, Tracey Smyth and Karen and Paul Jacobs for their kind donations. Together we are keeping our kids healthy and safe!

Fruits and veggies for all

Thanks to Rosa Capella and Jody Wallace for their recent donations toward fresh fruit and veggies for the children. Children's diets in Tanzania tend to be starch-heavy, so we work hard to get our kids the protein and other nutrients they need. Donations like these help a lot!

GOLDEN GRACE CLINIC
We continue to meet the needs of the sick in Shinyanga. A special emphasis is being given to feeding and providing medical care to the elderly, as our mobile clinic reaches into remote areas. Kesho is the U.S. nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization that provides funds to LOHADA. Kesho is happy to announce several new board members, who are hard at work to figure out the best ways to meet the needs of LOHADA children and families in Tanzania.
