RedDRESS Installation and Vigil

Dear BIA members,

On Thursday October 4th, the National Day of Action on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, the Partnership on Truth & Reconciliation in Oakville in association with local women’s group Sisters in Spirit will present a vigil and discussion on this important topic at Sheridan College. As part of this event, Oakville’s Truth & Reconciliation committee has planned to install The ReDRESS Project in public spaces throughout Oakville. This year 65 red dresses will be installed on lamp posts along Lakeshore Road East and Kerr Street as well as indoors at town community centers, libraries, the police station and Sheridan College.

The dresses will be installed in Downtown Oakville on Wednesday October 3 and will be taken down on Friday October 5.
