Halton Harvest - Request for restaurant interest by Sept 2nd

Dear BIA Restaurateurs,

Harvest Halton is coming to Downtown Oakville on Sunday October 16, 2016 from 1 – 4 pm.
This event is brought to you in partnership with the Downtown Oakville BIA, the Region of Halton and the Town of Oakville.
In Summary:
Harvest Halton is a signature culinary event featuring local chefs and farmers sponsored by the Region of Halton.
For the past three years, Harvest Halton has been held in Country Heritage Park with a growing number of attendees each year.
In 2015, Harvest Halton was held at both Country Heritage Park and a smaller scale version was held at the Toronto Premium Outlets.  Country Heritage Park hosted  500+ visitors and Toronto Premium Outlet hosted 250+ visitors.
For 2016, the Region of Halton has decided to again host Harvest Halton Events.  One in Downtown Oakville and the other at the Toronto Premium Outlets.
The Ask:
We are looking for up to 10 Downtown Oakville restaurants who are interested in delivering a culinary sampling experience supporting the local food movement while celebrating the harvest season.
Benefits to Restaurants:
  • Showcase your culinary expertise
  • Link with the local farming community
  • Connect with local food lovers
  • Promotional recognition before and at the event through marketing initiatives with the Region of Halton, Downtown Oakville BIA and the Town of Oakville
How it Works:
Once participating restaurants have been confirmed, the Region of Halton will pair each restaurant with a local farm from Halton.
The farms and restaurants will connect and come up with a menu item to serve at Harvest Halton.  The Region of Halton will purchase items from farms once the menu has been finalized.  The cost to the restaurant would be for additional ingredients not sourced from the farmer plus chef and/or staff time.
Sample sized portions would be prepared and served to participants at your restaurant during the event.
350 tickets will be sold for the event – 300 prior (through the Region of Halton) and 50 on the day of Harvest Halton.  Ticket holders will be able to visit each of the participating restaurants to sample the featured menu item.
If you would like to participate or you would like more information, please let us know by email or telephone by Friday September 2, 2016 We will set up a suitable meeting time to provide you with more information, answer any questions and confirm your interest in participating.
We are looking forward to hearing from you and seeing you at Harvest Halton!!
