The BIA is introducing new participation levels for the 2018 Tree Lighting Ceremony in Downtown Oakville, other than just the Holiday Market. The BIA is offering spaces in the following categories for activations;
Types of Member/ Vendor Activations
Holiday Market Booth Set-Up (George St.)
Participation Fee: $150 plus HST
- Holiday Market (returning from 2017)
- Member Activation
- Member Food Market
- Beer Gardens and Extended Patios
BIA Members will be prioritized for booth spaces until Monday October 15, 2018
when the Vendor Applications will become available for businesses outside of the BIA. Maximum 12 booth spaces available.
In exchange for the vending fee, the Downtown Oakville Holiday Market will provide to each participating business: one vending space (6 foot long x 10 foot deep), one 6 foot table with table cloth, two chairs, lighting, a sign with your business’ logo and name above your table, along with cohesive market decor and marketing exposure on our website and social platforms.
Access to amenities including: electrical grey water dumping, etc., are not provided nor will be available. The business must be able to accept cash, credit/ debit with a cash box, POS machine provided by your business, or SQUARE.

This vendor space is described as any business, that is located within the street closure (Lakeshore Rd.; East of Thomas St. and West of Dunn St.), that would like to participate with a booth set-up outside their storefront.
This business is responsible for providing their own booth equipment (i.e. tents, tables, etc.) and must follow standard procedures for proper tent weighting, Halton Food Services Application and Town of Oakville food permits. Member Food Market
Participation Fee: $0.00
This vendor space is NEW to the Tree Lighting Ceremony event. The BIA is looking for business interested in selling food that requires warming trays or cooking stations (i.e. Grills and hot plates). If you are selling baked good or prepacked items that do not require cooking/ warmth on site please select BIA Member Holiday Market. If you are a business that has the ability to utilize a food truck please feel free to contact the BIA Event Coordinator further for details.
This area will be located within the closure along Lakeshore and the business is responsible for providing their own booth equipment (i.e. tents, tables, etc.) and must follow standard procedures for proper tent weighting, Halton Food Services Application and Town of Oakville food permits. This vendor space is described as any business that would like to host a patio serving alcohol. Limited spaces are available.
This business is responsible for providing their own equipment (i.e. tents, tables, etc.) and must follow standard procedures for proper tent weighting, Halton Food Services Application and AGCO Liquor permits. For more information please contact the Event Coordinator from the BIA for additional information.
Businesses interested in applying for permission to vend at the Downtown Oakville Tree Lighting Ceremony should complete and submit an application form, see below (under Insurance Requirements) or click the link below, a copy of their insurance and any fees.
All vendors on Town of Oakville facilities or held on town property must provide the BIA with a certificate of Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance in the value of $5 million. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any insurance questions or concerns.
The certificate is required to name “The Corporation of the Town of Oakville, 1225 Trafalgar Road, Oakville Ontario, L6H 0H3
” as Additional Insured.
