Two-way Conversion Update

Dear BIA members,

The town has informed us of upcoming work taking place in preparation for the two-way conversion:

The town’s paving contractor, Gazzola Paving, will be starting concrete works in the downtown the week of Monday, June 18, 2018. This work is in preparation for the 2—way conversions that will be implemented in the mid-September to mid-October time frame.  The work includes the following:
  • Minor curb and gutter repairs on Randall Street, Church Street, Navy Street, George Street and Dunn Street;
  • Modifications to the island and right-turn channel at the intersection of Navy Street and Randall Street;
  • Modifications to the curbs and “bump-outs” at the intersection of Dunn Street and Randall Street; and
  • Modifications to the curbs at the north-east corner of Trafalgar Street and Randall Street.
This work will take approximately 2 to 3 weeks to complete.  We do not anticipate any major impacts to traffic during construction.  There will be some temporary closures of parking spaces in the vicinity of where the concrete works are being completed.

Best,
