Hello My Friends!

I like to teach mindfulness in a way that is approachable, relatable and attainable. I want you to learn these tools in a way that makes sense to you, as well as in a way that that you'll feel like I get you, and understand you. It's because I do; I've been there! I also like to give visuals to help you make sense of the tools that I teach.

One of my favorite visuals is for how I describe how our brain rewires to create new habits and patterns. So here it is:

Picture a snowy field, with a well-established pathway in the snow; it is so well-established that the snow embankments on either side are like 10 feet high. It's the most accessible path in the snow, but here is the problem: you don't like where it leads you.

So, you have to learn to walk a new path; to make a conscious choice to create a new path. At first, your new path only consists of footprints in the snow...but if you continue to intentionally travel down that new path, those footsteps will eventually turn into a well-established path towards the direction you want to be in. And guess what happens to the old path?
When you stop walking down it, it'll get snowed over!

The more you walk the new path, the easier it is to access the new habit. When you stop walking the old path it'll get snowed over; that is to say when you stop using those old habits, they will eventually go away. This is neuroplasticity in action, the process through which your brain  rewires to create new neuropathways. It's simple, but just not easy.

If you'd like to practice this, and more, I'm offering individual coaching packages as well as my online classes (coming soon! I had to change the original dates...). Send me an email if you are interested in mindfulness and mindset coaching.
