Tip: Create a Mental and Emotional Hygiene Routine

When you think about what it means to take care of yourself, what comes to mind?

You probably try to eat right, exercise, get enough sleep, not drink too much, take care of your personal hygiene...right? And you likely have a daily routine that allows you to get all that done. Most of the items like brushing your teeth and washing your face are (hopefully!) non negotiable, and others (maybe like the exercise or making your bed) can be put off to some other time, or maybe you decide not to do them at all.

But how much of your day do you dedicate to your mental and emotional health and well-being?

Without mental and emotional health, you're only tackling nearly half of what's most important for you to live a thriving life. These things look like slowing down, breathing, meditation, being more mindful, yoga, letting go of what's no longer serving you, not believing all your thoughts, allowing and accepting all your emotions...which of these do you need most?

Pick just one to start integrating into your daily hygiene routine...even if it's only for a minute, start integrating your complete wellness.

Since September is Self-Care Awareness Month, each WisdomWednesday this month will be dedicated to you creating attainable and sustainable tools that will allow you to be healthier, happier and get you on the path for living your best life.
