Hello My Friends!

Happy Mindful Monday!

As you read through this, I offer to you to slow down, connect with your breath and intentionally exhale out what is no longer serving you. Mindfulness is simple, just not always easy and the more we practice, the better we get at it, allowing it to become more like second nature.

If you follow me on social media (and if you don't, why not??!! Links are below!) then you'll know that I've been posting a lot of about creating new habits. 

One of my favorite phrases is, "It's not try harder, it's try different." We can get so stuck in the same old habits and just think that if we work harder at them, then we will achieve the outcome that we are looking for.

But there is wisdom in recognizing "harder" may only be pushing you down the wrong path. You need awareness to know when it is time to shift to something different.  

There can often be fear in trying something different. It's an unknown. And if you're like me,
it's can be really hard to accept the unknown.

But sitting in the known, especially when it is increasing my suffering, is actually worse. That's why it's a practice to shift into self-compassion, acknowledge the struggle and continue to journey forward with wisdom and self-kindness.

Last thing I'll share is a comment I received on an Instagram post about this very topic. The response had to do with the recognition that when we often get stuck it's because we are seeking control; and what usually is behind the holding onto to control is a fear of uncertainty. So then the practice becomes surrendering to the unknown, and allowing the control to subside, the fear to lessen and be open to whatever arises. He finished this post by sharing a favorite mantra, "Uncertainty being known." Thank the universe for once again showing you what you need to practice. It's often around how to let go, and let be.
