Tip: Set Intentions, Not New Year's Resolutions
I am not a fan of New Year's Resolutions; I don't think that we need an arbitrary date to help us decide it is time to create change in our lives.
When you are ready to create change, then do it then. Whether it is now, tomorrow, the next day, in a month...whenever it is that you decide it is time to show up differently in your life, to create new habits, set boundaries or shift your relationship to toxic people in you life, you can do it.
I prefer, rather than having resolutions, to set intentions.
Maybe I'm just splitting hairs on the power of language, but I do believe that an intention keeps you present. An intention helps you connect to your moment-to-moment actions. Intentions give you flexibility to shift mid-path. Intentions are likely to be in alignment with your mind, body and soul.
Intentions release you of "shoulds."
So whatever it is that you are needing to be different in 2020, give yourself permission for that change to be slow, in baby steps and on your own time-frame.
I wish for you a wonderful new year, and a peaceful start to the new decade.
