Tip: Be Realistic

In order to integrate tools of self-care into your life, you've got to be realistic.

I often have such great goals for myself, which often include things that I never can actually achieve, like getting up at 5am to do an hour-long exercise video , a 20-min meditation, and journaling, all while having to be out the door at 7:15am to take my kids to school.

Those are not realistic goals I can stick to. So I've set myself up for failure.

I'm working right along side of you in my self-care, so I've started setting up goals and intentions for myself that actually make sense for my time and availability.

So, to be more aware of your self-care, start by being realistic in what you can actually be successful in integrating into your daily or weekly routine. Set yourself up for success!

And you can even make it fun! If you're trying to work out more, try doing 10 squats after every time you go to the bathroom, or do some lunges when brushing your teeth. You don't always need more time in your day; you just need to be using it effectively!
