Hello My Friends!

Happy Mindful Monday!

So, as summer break comes to an end (my girls go back to school today!), there are often two camps of responses from parents:

1. A loud, ominous groan of how quickly summer went by, followed by the cliche that this summer went faster than ever before, and the wish for just one more week to do everything that there was no time for.

~ Or ~ 

2. A collective sigh of relief to get the kids back in school, back to routine, and finally get them out of your hair. 

Regardless of which camp you fall into, the inevitable part is that the school year brings with it not only a cadence and rhythm of time passing but also a whole set of stresses and anxieties... for you and your kids!

As parents we are constantly role modeling to our children how to respond to what it arising. If we freak out, then they are learning to freak out. If we stay calm, then they are being role modeled how to stay calm. So it's critical to practice the tools you most want to see in your kids. I work with parents all the time that want their kids to have the skills that they themselves aren't practicing, and yet they don't connect the dots.

So, no judgment, just awareness. And then practice. And I'm here to teach you how to practice.
