Tip: Meditate

First off, I hope this message finds you well, safe, and healthy.

I believe that we have a choice in how we view this mandatory pause we are all experiencing. If you choose to, you can view the stillness we are all experiencing as a gift of time to reset and realign with ourselves, our needs, our values and our intentions.

So, if it's not your natural mindset to focus on the positive, then how do you do that?

Well, as you may guess, I think mindfulness is the answer to everything. I really believe that.

And at the root of a mindfulness practice, is meditation. The opportunity to slow down, breathe, observe what's arising and then come back to the focal point of attention (which is often the breath).

For the past few years, I've been leading weekly meditations in my office each Wednesday, which is one of my favorite parts of my week. It's a beautiful gathering, in which I start off doing a teaching rooted in mindfulness, then, guide a 25 minute meditation in silence, and then finish with what I find to be the most important part, of how to take these tools "off the cushion" so to speak, and into daily aspects of your life.

And since we are all experiencing a shelter in place, I'm going to be offering these meditations in my Journey Forward facebook group, and I invite you all to join me.

If you're in that group, you don't need to do anything but just log on, and if you're not in the group but would like to be part of the live meditation, click here to request to join.

In addition to these regular meditations, I'll likely lead a few more throughout the week at longer length, but I am planning on doing two live videos per day in that Journey Forward group.

I'll be doing a live video each morning, which will be a short meditation and intention-setting to start the day, and then each early evening I'll be doing a talk about bringing tools of mindfulness into our lives given the very real challenges that we are all facing right now.

If you know someone who could benefit from these meditations, please share this - we all need to support one another and gain the tools to not just survive, but thrive.

Whatever you're feeling is normal, natural and okay to be feeling. We are all in this together, and I believe we can all get through this stronger and more united, cause I know the world is desperately in need of healing.

Please forward this to anyone who you think may benefit, and if you're needing more support, please send me an email and I'm happy to set up a phone session with you.

Be well and stay healthy!

How to Stay Calm During the 2020 Election
After the 2016 election, in addition to having an increase of clients coming in reporting “election anxiety” or “political anxiety”, I also remember seeing a lot of articles pop up in my social media addressing the question of, “How am I going to deal with the outcomes of this election?” As so much of my […]
