Tip: Remove Your Masks

With tomorrow being Halloween, it seemed like a good time to think about the masks we hide behind in our every day lives.

It's so easy to hide behind what you are feeling, what you are thinking, what you really believe, what you want, what you need, in addition to hiding behind what you think others want or need from you and/or what others think you "should" be. This list really could go on and on...

So what are you afraid of? What is allowing you to keep your masks on?

Usually it's fear of vulnerability.

We crave to be loved, but we are often afraid to really be seen, for what if someone really sees who we are...the fear is that we won't be accepted.

So I encourage you to be curious and compassionate about the masks that you're wearing and then tune into self-compassion as to why you've been wearing the mask and then, move forward with greater intention in deciding how is the mask serving your authenticity?

And if you decide to keep your masks on, that's fine. Just do so with awareness, rather than operating out of fear, anxiety, or simply familiarity.
