Attn Pharmacy Owners and Pharmacists-in-Charge: Clarification on Government Flu Vaccine Package

PANL has been receiving questions related to the Provincial Government flu vaccine package. Please see clarification on a number of items below:
 
Billing:
Government has not yet provided the billing information. It will be provided directly to pharmacies as a bulletin and PANL will also distribute to members as soon as we receive it.
 
Consent:
Pharmacists may accept verbal consent. In this scenario, the pharmacist verbally asks the questions on the consent form to the patient and the pharmacist completes the form.
 
Clarification on specific forms:
Employee Seasonal Influenza Immunization Consent Form:
This form is only required if a patient receiving a flu shot in a pharmacy is a public health employee. It is a way to track their immunizations. If completing this form, for ‘location’ you can list ‘pharmacy’ (even though pharmacy is not listed on the Consent Quick Tips form).
 
Clinical Guidance for Influenza Vaccinations During COVID-19
This is for pharmacies offering off-site immunization clinics. All the protocols do not necessarily apply to immunizations happening within the pharmacy.
 
PPE Ordering Form
There are many items listed that are not available to pharmacies at no cost. The reason the form contains all these items is because it is pre-populated in MedTech and could not be changed in time.
 
Medical Directive
The reason pharmacists and physicians are not listed is because they do not require an order for deliver the vaccine.
