New Year Resolutions

Have you seen our twelve resolutions in the Forest? Read them all here! How about...

Embark on a dry January - Yes, we’re all looking to cut down on our alcohol intake this year, but even the heavyweight teetotallers waver when catching a glimpse of a fully-stocked hotel minibar. Instead, book a getaway in a self-catering cottage, far from temptation, and schedule a week of active adventures

Learn to cook - Harts Barn Cookery School have a new series of 'Takeaway Specials', 'Low Carb - High Veg', or for the meat lovers try their 'Butchery Classes' - learn how to smoke, cure, make sausages and improve your butchery skills.

Get creative - Is 2015 the year you dig out your old paintbrush? Why not join a workshop with Mariana-Art where you can enjoy learning in a small group to master your watercolour skills (and more!).

Dive in! - Always fancied scuba diving? The National Diving Centre welcome divers of all abilities, adults or children, to teach new skills and enhance your diving experience. Their underwater attractions include a landrover lagoon, training platforms, old cruisers/carriers, a diving bell and jet streams!

Challenge yourself - If you're training towards a marathon, you don't have to venture to the capital. Why not take part in the October Mallards Pike TriMax race. Run from 5k up to a full marathon, depending on how brave you're feeling!

Get on your bike!  - If you're keen to follow the trends and get cycling in the new year, the Forest of Dean is the place to start! We have several bike centres with various bicycles for hire and guidance/coaching for any ability or age!
