Although the 'back-to-school' signs are up and we can already see the leaves changing colour, we should make the most of some fantastic summer events coming up!

Summer's not over yet in the Forest of Dean & Wye Valley with many events and exhibitions still on until the end of the month.

Here's a quick roundup of what's on in August and September.
Catch the last of…

Parva Farm vineyard tours
Join a guided tour of Parva Farm vineyard in the last few weeks of sunshine - the final on the 28th August! 

Taurus Crafts summer beach
There’s only a few weeks left to visit this man-made beach. Pop down to enjoy ice creams and sandcastles one last time... Last chance 31st August! 

SFA outdoor activities in the forest 
The kids have got to make the most of the outdoors before the classroom beckons... Build dens, light fires and camp - last chance 28th August! 

Castell Roc Festival
This music festival is only on until the end of the month, so make sure you fit in a day's visit. Still to play are tribute acts: ABBA Mania, A Night of Queen and Rhydian - on until 30th August!

Butterfly Maps by Jessica Gadsby at Taurus Crafts (until 31st August)

Museum Pieces by Mariette Voke at The Dean Heritage Centre (until 28th September) 

Sites of Inspiration at Chepstow Museum. 
The world wide fame of Tintern Abbey today comes not just from the magnificent monument itself, but from the works it has inspired over the last 250 years, from the art of Turner and his contemporaries to the poetry of Wordsworth. (until 28th September)
Hot Pot Pottery

This month we featured Hot Pot Pottery on our blog, who are open for additional days during the summer. They are open the whole of the Bank Holiday weekend 11-4pm for pottery painting in the tearoom with tasty homemade treats, hot and cold drinks. They will continue to be open Thursday to Sunday until the end of the summer holidays, check their website for further information.

And in the not too distant future... 

Newent Onion Fayre - 13th September
The annual Newent Onion Fayre is back again this year with even more live music, entertainment and exhibitions. There will be 100+ stalls, food and drink, children’s activities and of course the anticipated Newent Onion Show!

Abergavenny Food Festival - 20th & 21st September
The famous Abergavenny Food Festival will once again bring together 200+ speciality food and drink providers for a weekend of masterclasses, tutored tastings and food talks, as well as children’s activities.

Perrygrove Annual Steam Gala - 20th & 21st September
There will be at least seven engines operating the railway.  For more information please visit
