Palm Sunday

Ride on! ride on in majesty!
In lowly pomp ride on to die;
O Christ, thy triumphs now begin
O’er captive death and conquered sin.

From "Ride On! Ride On In Majesty!", written by Henry Hart Milman (1791 – 1868). Public Domain.

Palm Sunday is a striking combination of dramatic expectation and the deep reflection as we begin our journey through Holy Week and the liturgy of the Passiontide. Our complete lectionary has a wide range of Classic Hymns for Lent and Passiontide to meet the wide range of thoughts and emotions you'll experience in prayer this week.

Some of our most recent additions to this collection are:

We also have some brand new hymn recordings ready to release after Easter so stay tuned for those!

Back to Bach: in case you missed it. . .

Last month, we release a brand new album of J.S. Bach’s Eight Short Preludes and Fugues BWV 553-560 for Ash Wednesday. These were recorded by Richard Irwin using the Garritan Pipe Organ and form an academic and entertaining set of compositions for organ suitable for before, during and after the service. To find out more and listen to this album, head to our website now. You can also order a CD copy here.

Thank you for supporting Hymns Without Words, our prayers are with you all.
