Happy Bank Holiday

Happy Bank Holiday to all our listeners in the UK celebrating the Platinum Jubilee weekend. Whether you're having a cream tea or baking the official Lemon Swiss roll and amaretti trifle, perhaps you'll appreciate some patriotic music to accompany you. Donate Money To Charity By Playing Music – World Environment Day 2022

Build A Better World sees musicians from the UK and USA come together to spread awareness of climate change issues and to raise money to support eco-charities.

We launched our first fundraising song on World Environment Day, 5 June 2021, and our second new song is released today - World Environment Day. Both releases are based on the words by multi-award winning song-writer Colin Gordon-Farleigh.

The 2021 version “Better World” was a country music arrangement sung by Cindy Hall, composed by Sandy Smolen and produced in Nashville by Ernie Rowell. It has achieved over 1 million plays so far and won The Akademia Music Award for Best Country Song in the February 2022 Akademia Music Awards!

The new 2022 version “A Better World” is sung by soprano Annie Garry is very different, a classical crossover song composed by Richard Irwin and David Simkins, who also produced the track. It is available through all good music platforms, including Apple, Deezer, Spotify, Tidal etc.

The new song is dedicated to environmentalist campaigner, Greta Thunberg, who has been asked to propose the charities which will receive the royalties from the song’s plays. As before, instead of asking an audience to donate money to these charities, supporters can donate simply by listening to “A Better World” on their favourite music platform and sharing it on social media.

Composer Richard Irwin said: “We want to support the world in its efforts to overcome the challenges of Climate Change, but we cannot keep asking people for money, especially these days. With the Build A Better World initiative we hope to both increase people’s awareness of the issues our environment is facing and raise money without asking for any money.”

Commenting on the last year, song-writer Colin Gordon-Farleigh said: “We are very proud of what we achieved with the Cindy Hall’s country version of ‘Better World’ and want now to attract a new audience with the 2022 Classical Crossover version. The music put together by Richard Irwin and David Simkins is both original and memorable and hope we can get more than a million listens in the next twelve months.”
