Happy new year!

|
This year we updated our name from Leiden University Pride to Leiden Pride. We want everyone to feel welcome in our community; whether you're a student in Leiden or elsewhere, an older member of our community, or a working queer:
you are welcome at Leiden Pride ♥
Thank you for joining us for our very first event as Leiden Pride last Wednesday: nothing better than a pub full of people singing their lungs out together!
Remember to follow us on Instagram or Facebook, or message us to join the WhatsApp announcements group to stay up to date on our newest events.

Political laboratory — With our name update this year have come new responsibilities towards our community. We are now inviting you, that community, to join our first political laboratory session. The purpose of these sessions will be to bring focus to our Pride and build a base for future actions on contemporary queer issues. We will discuss and organise concrete actions to tackle these issues: gender-based violence, immigration and queer refugees, transgender and non binary inequality, among others. Let's talk about what the global queer community needs and how we can best contribute to solutions in the Leiden area. Stay tuned on FB and Instagram for more information, or contact us with your thoughts.

Pop-up clinic — Since 2018, Alejandra Ortiz has been one of five volunteers that organises a monthly pop-up clinic in Amsterdam for transgender and gender non-conforming people. At the clinic people can get prescriptions for hormones and HIV medication, referrals to medical specialists, judicial aid for legal name changes or to ask delicate questions about medical and social transition.
If you'd like to, you can vote for Alejandra in the "Roze Lieverdjes" competition. It's a Dutch prize for people who contributed something extraordinary to the LGBTQI+ community voluntarily.
