A word from the President

EmanuelYou will by now have directly received notice of the special meeting of the Ifpra General Assembly to decide upon the future of Ifpra, and the notice is repeated in this issue of World Park News.

Your Executive and Task Force are recommending we adopt the World Urban Parks organisation constitution as the sustainable ‘new Ifpra’, however the future of our organisation will be in your hands when you vote by online survey, and I encourage you all to have your say.

Special online meeting to set Ifpra's future

A special meeting of the Ifpra General Assembly will be held online from 5-12 December to decide on the adoption of the constitution of a new-model world urban parks organisation or ‘new Ifpra’.

Presentation to IUCN World Parks Congress

The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) World Parks Congress is run once a decade and is a major feature in the calendar for the parks sector.

The 2014 Congress was held this month in Sydney, Australia and attracted over 6,000 leaders in the parks and conservation industries from more than 170 countries around the world.

Yardstick Benchmark of the month - November 2014
