Victory Is Sweet!

In August 2014 HRI was in the middle of weekly legal clinics for unaccompanied immigrant minors due to the “rocket dockets”, court schedules that fast tracked deportation hearings for Central American children who crossed the U.S. border without a parent. With a surge of unaccompanied minors seeking refuge from gang violence and an unwilling immigration system, we recruited over 150 volunteer lawyers and translators (pictured above) to screen minors for legal relief. Two years later many of those same minors have received their green cards! Victory is sweet!
