Redirect the Stimulus,
if you can.

The $2 trillion economic stimulus package is a welcome relief for people who are in real trouble due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But, not everyone can get one.

Despite paying into taxes with an ITIN, paying sales taxes at every store, paying tolls, immigrant families are excluded from most federal and state emergency relief and are struggling to make ends meet.

That’s why we launched our Family Solidarity Fund.

SSIP believes everyone deserves protection and support during a public health crisis. To overcome this, we need and depend on each other. If you feel that your economic situation is much more secure, still have a job, or have access to a safety net in these times, you can make a world of a difference by sharing your stimulus check.

We've already received commitments from community members that will be donating some or their entire stimulus payment to the COVID-19 Family Solidarity Fund. Take advantage of the matching fund and join us in redirecting the stimulus to families that need it!

Tax Talk

There is a provision in the $2 trillion stimulus package that benefits people who give to nonprofits.

Basically, even if you don't itemize your taxes, you will get some of your donation back in the form of a tax deduction.

So even if you take the standard deduction of $12,400 ($24,800 for married couples filing jointly), this provision would still put a little more back in your pocket.

Still no Decision on DACA

The Supreme Court has not yet made a decision on DACA.

The next possible date is April 23, though it is unlikely that they will make a decision then.

Your donation to the Family Solidarity Fund today, may also help a DACA beneficiary renew their expiring work permit before it’s too late, allowing them to keep their job and support their families and our communities.
