Head Master's Newsletter | 5th December 2019

If you hadn’t yet noticed, the Prep is in full swing with preparations for the Christmas season. Already this week has seen the Year 1 and 2’s Christmas Performance of Rock the Baby, which was truly heart-warming, and Year 5’s brilliant Christmas assembly. Our Christmas Concert will be taking place tonight and Friday will see Year 3’s Christmas Assembly and the Early Years Nativities. Not to forget our Old Boys drinks on Saturday which will see mulled wine and many a mince pie.
Touching upon Christmas Celebrations, I would like to draw your attention to the Clarion Call sent out yesterday in which we have announced a change of venue for the Christmas Carol Concert on Wednesday 11th December.
On a related note, I had the pleasure of attending Westminster’s Orchestral Concert last Monday, which was stunning. This was followed by a visit to Winchester College on Thursday; we hope to get Dr Hands to school for a visit for Meet the Head next year.  The week was rounded up with some super drama from Kings College Wimbledon’s Senior Production. Thinking on to our own events, next week will see our Middle and Upper School Christmas Play Tis the Season. If you haven’t done so already, you can book tickets here.
With the seasonal crisp weather and muddy pitches, Rugby has still maintained a high presence at the Prep as we retained the Whitcomb trophy last Saturday; you can read more about it in the features below.
Finally, it is with great pleasure I announce that returning to us in the Music Department is Rachel Chambers who will be with us for two days a week, along with our new Music Administrator, Jen Taylor. The Sports Department will also be gaining a new administrator, Michaela Francy. We are looking forward to having them with us when the new term arrives.
Wishing you a festive rest of the week,
