Yet another week has flown by!
Since I wrote to you last week we have had our incredibly successful Open Morning, welcoming over 700 people through our doors. The boys have been repeatedly complimented since for their maturity and knowledge in showing new families around the school, so a big thank you to them!
The staff deserve our gratitude too. Families have written to express their pleasure at seeing dynamic experiments in our science labs, a warm learning environment in Early Years, gorgeous food being prepared in the cookery suite and much more, so I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the staff for their time and effort.
From new to old in one day, that morning was followed by a brilliant afternoon with our alumni; the Old Boys lunch at our Pavilion on the Gallery Road site... this was a ‘Forty Years On’ lunch for those who had left  the school forty or more years ago. Some who sat with me told of their experiences as much as eighty years ago, when they were evacuated to Wales. It meant so much to me to hear those stories first hand.
Monday saw our Year 3 & 4 children entering their first swimming gala and they had a brilliant time, showing both confidence and team spirit in the pool.
Wednesday was kicked off by 4D’s assembly, I loved hearing their individual thanks and seeing their photographs of things, people and animals that they hold dear to them... a real window into their worlds!
Finally, a Nursery Harvest Festival ends the week with some of our youngest and finest delivering their lines superbly and being confident enough to talk in front of so many. Just gorgeous.
I can’t wait for next week, with more year group Harvest celebrations, 4L’s class assembly, water polo matches and much more. Keep an eye on your Friday mailings for specific information for your child’s section!
