Head Master's Newsletter | 6th November 2019

Welcome back to one of the busiest half terms in the diary, kick-started with Year 1 Coffee Mornings this week and a Music Scholars Concert at Marlborough College that I had the pleasure of attending last Sunday evening.
The clocks and the weather have changed and given the signal for the start of our rugby season and for rehearsals for Christmas productions, concerts and Nativities to accelerate. It is wonderful to see the children throwing themselves into these events with the same gusto that some took with them on trips to Italy and Iceland, to the pre-season rugby training camp at Eastbourne College and the Prep+ trip that all took place during the holiday; my special thanks go to the staff that gave their time so that the boys could enjoy these opportunities.
November has brought with it the start of our participation with men’s health charity Movember in which many male members of staff are raising money for charity by sporting a moustache for the month; I will be joining in solidarity with a fake one!  The week continues with our first Leake Lecture of the school year taking place tonight, a visit to Rochester Castle tomorrow and our annual Remembrance Service at St Stephen’s Church on Sunday morning.
I am sure that no one has missed the fact that we are in firework season. My thanks go, in advance, to The Friends for their time and effort and I look forward to seeing many of you for a spectacular display on Saturday.
