                                                The Lady from #23…

Good afternoon dear reader & welcome to my world for another week. A little late this weekend, & whilst I seldom struggle for inspiration, the last few days my mind has been elsewhere. Until today. I left my wallet on the roof of my car & drove off earlier this afternoon. Upon returning home, I did not have time to think what to do, as my mobile rang & the kind lady apologized for running over it… Whew!!!

It set me thinking about being honest & a meaning of the word today. Perhaps ~ choosing not to lie, steal, cheat, or deceive in any way. When we are honest, we build strength of character which will allow us to be of great service to others. We are blessed with peace of mind & self-respect & will be trusted. This is how I feel now about the lady from #23…

So, rather writing further today friends, I am going to share with you something I read recently which I have been keeping for such an article:

Tell me who your best friends are, & I will tell you who you are.
If you run with wolves, you will learn how to howl.
But, if you associate with eagles, you will learn how to soar to great heights.

"A mirror reflects the face of a person, but what they are really like is shown by the kind of friends they choose."  The simple but true
fact of life is you become like those with whom you closely
associate ~ for the good & the bad.

The less you associate with some people, the more your life will
improve.  Any time you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases
your mediocrity.  An important attribute in successful people
is their impatience with negative thinking & negative acting people.

As you grow, your associates will change.  Some of your friends
will not want you to go on.  They will want you to stay where
they are.  Friends who do not help you climb will want you to crawl.

Your friends will stretch your vision or choke your dream.
Those who do not increase you will eventually decrease you.

Consider this:
Never receive counsel from unproductive people.

Never discuss your problems with someone incapable of
contributing to the solution because those who never succeed
themselves are always first to tell you how.

Not everyone has a right to speak into your life.
You are certain to get the worst of the bargain when you
exchange ideas with the wrong person.

Do not follow anyone who is not going anywhere.
With some people you spend an evening, with others you invest it.
Be careful where you stop to inquire for directions along the road of life. 1

Wise is the person who fortifies his life with the right friendships. 1

Again, my thanks to the lady from #23 who reinforced my faith in community & honesty.

Thank you for taking the time to be with me once again & I hope my journey may encourage you also. Until next weekend, this is Kenn Butler in Paradise, Nelson, with my best wishes & to you all, a splendid week.
