Message from your President, Biddie Lowry:

NOVAWE is a member-run organization, and in order to continue to exist and grow we need new board members to bring ideas and energy to the table. NOVAWE has an immediate need for a few individuals to step up and be part of our core Board of Directors team.

Basic Board Responsibilities:
*meets monthly by Google Meet
*helps to plan and produce the events
*takes a specific role to help the team

Board Members and Volunteers are needed to help in the following specific areas:
* organize events
* hospitality at events
* Website assistance (using Word Press): uploading documents, maintaining the calendar and the Members Only page, etc.
* producing Mail Chimp messages
* membership

Please email if you are interested in volunteering to help in one of the areas listed above as a Board Member. Some of these areas can be done by a volunteer if you want to help but can't commit to a Board Position right now. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration!

NOVAWE is proud to announce the establishment of the
"Joseph Klosek Memorial Perpetual Trophy
NOVAWE EOH Champion.
After Kim Ellis's father, Joseph Klosek, passed away last year, her friends got together and purchased this beautiful trophy to memorialize her father who always supported Kim with her riding and love for horses. Engraved on the trophy is "NOVAWE EOH Champion."

This award will be presented at the end of each year with the recipient's name engraved on the Perpetual Trophy. The recipient will receive a memento trophy to keep.
Here are the criteria:
1. Recipient must be a current member of NOVAWE.
2. Scores from the current year of NOVAWE Schooling Shows and from the current year of any USAWE Licensed Show will be kept in a spreadsheet.
3. The trophy will be awarded to the rider with the highest average Ease of Handling score after removing the highest and lowest scores.
4. At least 3 shows must be attended and EOH score received.
5.  Riders from all levels are eligible.

The NOVAWE Board of Directors decided to present only a few awards at the end of this year because there are only three schooling shows on the calendar and not very many riders can attend at least two of these. Consideration was also given to the fact that the schooling shows are not filling, End of the Year Awards and banquet are very expensive, and volunteers are hard to find.

NOVAWE will present:
1. The Joseph Klosek Memorial Perpetual Trophy - NOVAWE EOH Champion
2. Award to rider with the highest dressage score from the schooling shows of the current year.
2. Award to rider with the highest EOH score from the schooling shows of the current year.

NOVAWE Clinic with Doreen Atkinson - April 26th & 27th was a huge success!

Twenty riders were able to participate, some one day, some two days. Both riders and auditors benefited from Doreen's expertise. Doreen traveled to Oak Spring Equestrian next for a two-day clinic followed by a USAWE Licensed WE Show.
Fifteen members of NOVAWE competed at the USAWE Licensed Show at Oak Spring Equestrian on April 30, 2022! Here are the final results for our members. Congratulations to ALL!
