This photo is of me sitting in a tree by the River Goolay'yari (Cooks River). I love it when trees have branches that perfectly support my body! It reminds me to consciously choose to be in situations that support me and my onward growth, rather than those that are more destabilising.

And even though this month's Card of the Month is The Tower (more info about this archetype below), which just LOVES to destabilise things, I am reminded of the need to enjoy what is supporting me, while it supports me, and then learn quickly how to let go when things change (my favourite neighbours moved out this month. Sad face).

But on to topics more tarot-esque! The latest Tarotscopes, collated by Siobhan's Mirror, are out. This month I wrote the tarotscope for Sagittarius, and you can check it out, as well as all the other astrological signs' tarot readings, here.

I'm off to Hobart, Tasmania this Thursday for two nights so that I can see the Gilbert and George exhibition at MONA! I have loved this intriguing couple ever since my favourite art teacher introduced their work to us in high school. I missed their exhibition in NYC by one week last year, so I am happy that they are now just a short plane trip away.

I'll be back to work for my usual Sunday to Wednesday week on the 28th, though I may be a bit slow on the email, phone and text correspondence this Thursday to Saturday.

Read on for the Tarot Card of the Month ~ The Tower!
Tarot Card of the Month ~ The Tower

For those who are reading this newsletter for the first time, every month I talk about the tarot card that appears the most in the month's tarot readings. Even though the cards will always have individual significance, a commonly occurring card can also have a say about what's going on for the whole community.

Ah, The Tower, how hard it is to ignore you and your fiery, building-smashing ways! When you appear on the table during a reading, a client will oft be heard to say, "well that doesn't look very good!" True, a tower being struck by lightning, on fire, and sometimes even complete with falling citizens, isn't really a visual that provides calm and hope. So let us look deeper. What does The Tower have to say when it turns up?

It usually wants us to address a situation where change is direly needed. Perhaps we have our blinkers on and are refusing to see what's happening, or we are ignoring our intuition and apathetically hoping for a "she'll be right, mate" scenario.

The Tower wants to deconstruct our established delusions. It wants to blast our consciousness awake and teach us about the power of letting go and surrendering to a change that we must go through in order to walk a clearer and more sustainable path.

Of late I have been gazing upon The Tower with much more affection. I mean it! This isn't me trying to make it all nice-and-positive! I believe it truly helps us break away from pathways that were carrying us in the wrong direction. Its style may be a little DRAMATIC, but by golly does it get us moving quickly in the right direction!

Now let us listen to the various voices of The Tower, accompanied by images from my tarot deck collection.

The Tower from Fergus Hall's Tarot of the Witches says, "Find me on a moonlit night as you lie half asleep in your bed. Watch me tap on the corner of your brain, reminding you to pay attention to the signs. Signs that there is life, yet, that can be powerful and majestic. Know my intentions before you wake up."

The Tower from Kim Krans' The Wild Unknown Tarot says, "Let me push you out of your slumber and show you what must be seen! Let me dismantle the lies you tell yourself before the lies eat your brain and spit out your sanity! Breathe me in and don't fear what I take from you, you may find the path clearer beyond this."

The Tower from Dolores Fitchie's The Gorgon's Tarot says, "Grab onto your wisdom - even if you think there are barely scraps of it left - and send it off into all the directions!

This is a powerful place to find yourself, and from here, you can start to own your strength and ground yourself as completely as possible, so that you can open up to new possibilities. Do not fear my bite, though my assertiveness is not to be ignored."

Here's to a tremendously Towering month ahead!

'Til next month, best wishes,
Sarah Barry (Psychic Sarah)
