Tarot tales from Newtown, Sydney, with a brief mention perhaps, of chai and other fascinating things.

Last week while I was participating in the Black Lives Matter march in Sydney city, my poor peace-loving Tarot Bike was used without my permission, as a prop in a photo shoot for something I do not align with. I wrote about the experience on my blog, here.

The bicycle divinations of the Tarot Bike continue! You can see the latest ones on my Instagram page.

Last newsletter I talked about the free Telesummit where I am interviewed, along with 6 other tarot readers (Sheilaa Hite, Mary K. Greer, Carrie Paris, Nancy Antenucci, Heather Mendel and Paris Finley) about our contributions to the book 101 Tarot Spreads by 20 Modern Tarot Masters by Sheilaa Hite. Click here to register for access to these free interviews, they are currently live! Listen to them while you still can. You can buy the book here.

Read on for the Tarot Card of the Month ~ The King of Wands.
Tarot Card of the Month ~ The King of Wands

For those who are reading this newsletter for the first time, every month I talk about the tarot card that appears the most in the month's tarot readings. Even though the cards will always have individual significance, a commonly occurring card can also have a say about what's going on for the whole community.

The King of Wands made a rather grand appearance in this month's tarot readings. It is difficult for this King to be anything other than fabulous. When I look at all the King of Wands in all the tarot decks I have, they all seem to be saying, "BEHOLD"! Every single one. I like that about them. They are so ready to wow us with their presence.

If we are to embody the King of Wands this month, there is the opportunity to overcome any fear or timidity by acknowledging our experiential wisdom, at least to ourselves. Then we can move with more assertiveness towards bigger plans that we want to put into action. If this King were to utter any words to us they would probably say, "There's the path - go for it!"

Let us now listen to the various voices of the King of Wands, accompanied by images from my personal tarot deck collection.

Father (King) of Wands from The Wild Unknown by Kim Krans says, "Strike while the iron is hot, and protect what you value most."

King of Wands from The Relative Tarot by Carrie Paris says, "Be steadfast as you cast your light on your path. Don't hide from your purpose. People want to watch you in your power, and learn."

King of Wands from Tarot of the Cat People by Karen Kuykendall says, "Your dreams are all around you, and only you know how to manage them. So go ahead and manage them and stop pretending to be overwhelmed!"

King of Wands from The David Bowie Tarot Deck by Jessica DeFelice says, "A strong pose goes a long way, and a strong gaze goes even further. If you are going to publicly declare your support for someone, make sure it is someone you truly admire."

The final image isn't a King of Wands card, but rather, a photo of the late Karen Kuykendall, creator of the Tarot of the Cat People. This photo was taken by Dik Daniels at a sci-fi convention in the 1980s. I gaze upon her resplendent self, and believe that she is very much striking a King of Wands pose!

May you wow many this month,
'Til next month, best wishes,
Sarah Barry (Psychic Sarah)

P.S Want more tarot stories? I post a Tarot Reading for the Collective on my website every month.

This month I used the beautiful Tarot de St. Croix by Lisa de St. Croix. I really enjoyed working with this contemporary multicultural deck. This month I asked these questions of the cards: Who are we listening to? Who should we listen to more? Who will hold us accountable? How can we love each other well, and without judgment? You can read the responses to those questions here.

[I generally post the Tarot Reading for the Collective in the first week (or so) of every month.]
